The setup: an earnings-day tape
NVDA reports after the close. That means two very different sessions in one day:
- 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM ET: normal penny stock momentum rules apply. Gap-and-go names with real relative volume lead. Most of today's clean day-trades will happen here.
- 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM ET: positioning ahead of the print. Volume thins out in unrelated small caps, and AI-adjacent tickers get bid on anticipation, not fundamentals. Late-day chases into earnings are the single worst risk/reward on the calendar.

What's actually on the watchlist

Entry rules for today
- Buy strength within 5% of the high of day. Beyond that you're paying for someone else's exit.
- Require a fresh push. If the stock hasn't added ground in the last 15–30 minutes, the move already happened. Our alert engine uses the same test before it emails you.
- Respect VWAP. Above and reclaiming dips = tradeable. Below and rejecting = spectator sport.
- No overnight holds into the NVDA print unless you accept full gap risk. Sympathy names gap both ways, hard.
